História fashion: berberes

Olá, 

Os berberes são um conjunto de povos de origem afro-asiática que vivem no Marrocos e Argélia, considerados os povos mais antigos do continente africano, sendo a maioria muçulmana. 

Um dos destaques desses povos são as joias confeccionadas em prata rígida, com apelo tribal, que direcionou e direciona muitas marcas de moda, como Yves Saint Laurent, que sempre se inspirou pelas imagens provenientes da cultura. 

O estilista de origem argelina, viveu anos em sua casa de Majorelle, onde descansava nas férias e dava festas históricas. Saint Laurent adquiriu em 1980 a famosa Casa da Serpente, localizada nos Jardins de Majorelle, espaço botânico criado pelo pintor francês Jacques Majorelle, onde existe também o Museu de Arte Islâmica, com vasto acervo de joias berberes. A ligação do estilista com os jardins foi tão forte, que suas cinzas foram espalhadas por lá, após sua morte.

Para entender um pouco mais sobre o tema, acontece até o próximo final de semana, em Paris, a exposição Femme berbères du Maroc, na Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent, que apresenta a riqueza que envolve os berberes.

O apelo estético da cultura deles é tão forte, que para a coleção do próximo Verão 2015 da parte masculina de Saint Laurent, hoje desenhada pelo americano Hedi Slimane, traz para o universo da marca, novamente, as joias e imagens berbères. Pura moda.

The Gardens Of Marojelle 

Let's start the week with a little bit of History, The Afro-asiatic family of the Berber people, a group of people formed by a wider group ethnicities and mostly Muslims. The Most of the Berbers have lived in Morocco and Argelia and are considered one of the oldest civilizations from North Africa. 

When it comes to the highlights of their culture and the berber woman’s jewelry, made exclusively of silver, reflecting mostly tribal traditions. Ethnic style has been one of the strongest influences in fashion. Yves Saint Laurent has Algerian roots and this culture has always fascinated him. 

Majorelle was Saint Laurent’s residence for a long period. Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé bought the Jardin Majorelle in 1980, a place with a great botanical diversity and spent long periods of time in this big house that became known as “The House of the Serpent”. Created by French painter Jacques Majorelle, Saint Laurent hosted in this house historical parties and spent long periods of time in the Jardin Majorelle. Nowadays, the Majorelle Garden also houses The Islamic art Museum gathers a vast collection of berber woman’s Jewelry. Saint Laurent had such a strong connection to Majorelle, that after his death, his body was cremated and the ashes scattered in the gardens.
