Aila: from Belém to the World

A música brasileira vira e mexe lança nova cantoras no cenário que faz todo mundo ficar de olho. Aila é uma delas.

Aila decidiu interromper o plano de tornar-se diplomata (se formou em Secretariado Executivo Trilíngue) para tocar na noite de Belém desde 2008, e agora pisa com tudo na maior capital do país para mostrar suas peripécias musicais. “Desde a primeira vez que pisei em São Paulo, percebi que poderia realizar meus sonhos nessa cidade, e isso me trazia uma vontade enorme de mudar, experimentar”, conta.

E para celebrar esse novo momento, lança o clipe de "Preciso ouvir música sem você", com música composta por Felipe Cordeiro, composição que se tornou o primeiro trabalho do disco de estreia "Trelelê".

No clipe realizado com patrocínio do Shopping Pátio Belém, via Lei Municipal de Incentivo à Cultura Tó Teixeira, Aila flerta com o mundo das artes. Encarna a feminilidade intrigante e o calor latino de Frida Kahlo, o movimento e exuberância dos parangolés de Helio Oiticica, a intensidade de Marina Abramovic, os tons coloridos e estilizados da Pop Art, o jogo interativo das estéticas tecnológicas da projeção de imagem, e a narrativa provocadora de René Magritte – um jogo de referências estéticas que cercam a cantora. “Essa música não tem a ver apenas com ouvir música sozinho, mas sim uma atitude, a possibilidade de ser livre, ser o que quiser, de valorizar o que de mais audacioso e verdadeiro há em nós, sem a interferência de outras pessoas” explica Aíla.

São Paulo é parte da construção do pessoal que vem do Belém para formar carreira na metrópole. "Tomar a decisão de seguir a carreira da música em Belém do Pará não é fácil, pelo contrário, é extremamente difícil. Não se tem perspectiva de mercado para a área cultural em Belém e muito menos nos interiores. Mas eu amo isso, então segui meu coração e fui com tudo”, conta Aíla, que também é minha prima. Aila - from Belem to the World! 

From time to time there's a new Brazilian singer invading the musical scene - and making everyone keep an eye on a new talent - this time I'm talking about Aila. 

Aila had to leave her plans to be a Diplomat - she graduated as an trilingual Executive Secretariat - and started pursuing her passion: a a career as musician. In 2008 Aila gave her first steps as a musician playing in bars in her hometown city Belém, in the north of Brazil. Aila began her real music career when she moved to Sao Paulo, the biggest Metropole in Brazil to introduce her talent to the crowd. "Since the first time I stepped in Sao Paulo, I realized that I could fulfill my dreams in this city and this new scenario gave me a huge desire to change and experiment" tells Aila. 

To celebrate this new moment in her career, Aila has released her debut album "Trelelê" and in addition, a video clip for the song "Preciso ouvir música sem você" composed by Philip Lamb has been released.

Sponsored by Shopping Mall Pátio Belém through a Municipal Cultural Incentive Law Tó Teixeira, Aila flirts with the arts as well. The singer embodies the Latin heat and the intriguing femininity of Frida Kahlo, movements and exuberance of parangolés, a series of works by the brazilian artist Helio Oiticica, Marina Abramovic's intensity, the colorful and stylized tones of Pop Art, the interactive game of technological aesthetics of image projection and the provocative narrative of René Magritte - a set of aesthetic references that surround the singer. "This song is not about just listening to music alone, it's rather about an attitude, the ability to be free, of being whatever you want, valuing our most audacious and truest side, without the interference from others" explains Aila. 

Sao Paulo is a necessary step if you want to build a real music career - for this reason artists from Belém and other smaller cities end up in the bit city. "Making the decision to pursue a music career in Belém is not easy at all, on the contrary, extremely difficult. The perspectives regarding culture are very narrow, not to mention the country side of Pará (the most populous state of the northern region of Brazil). At the same time I love this, so I've followed my heart and decided to bring it on!" says Aila, who by the way, is also my cousin. I'll keep my eyes on her!
